In Jesus and the Envoys’ time, slavery was everywhere and they used it, and its related customs, laws, and emancipation, as a central image — probably the central image — of their teaching.     I have thought so much upon this but the only query that remains coherent in my head at this moment is instead a tangent: Will the teaching that is effectual to further souls’ adoption by God be similar to a teaching that is effectual to relieve addiction?

    I am such a poor writer.
